Child abuse and maltreatment is a prevalent dilemma that continues to increase in today’s society. The issue continues to grow since people aren’t aware what child abuse and maltreatment truly mean; therefore, there is widespread ignorance among parents and caregivers because they don’t always intend to harm their children. Although, the problem still remains because the child can still be traumatized in many different ways. While there are many different forms in which a child can become a victim of child abuse, dictionary.com, defines child abuse as “mistreatment of a child by a parent or guardian, including neglect, beating, and sexual molestation.” Despite the definition covering multiple forms of child abuse, it still leaves out a few, such as, emotional abuse, psychological abuse and spiritual abuse. With the existence of so many different types of abuse, there can also be many levels of severity in which the parents use to abuse their children; however, no matter what form of abuse they use on their child and the severity, parents or caregivers who harm children usually have many factors in common that usually aid in commencing the child abuse.
While there are many different factors that lead to an adult using violence on a child; yet, the most common seem to be that the parents are also substance abusers, parents who abuse illegal substances have an immensely negative impact on their children, they typically neglect them, verbally and physically abuse them and…
