Overall thesis: Diet and exercise have a huge impact on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and preventing disorders such as diabetes and obesity.
Thesis: Contrary to popular belief, not all gluten free foods are healthy and some can contain higher concentrations of sugars/fats making whole grain foods the better option when attempting to lose weight.The article compares and contrasts gluten free foods to whole grain foods while evaluating the two to see which one promotes more weight loss. Going gluten free means getting rid of foods such as bread, muffins, pastries, and other baked goods causing weight loss. Yet, many people will instead swap these snacks for gluten free counterparts that are high in saturated fats, thus causing weight gain. For example, gluten free breads, muffins, and pastries. Just because it says gluten free doesn’t mean its always healthy so, when choosing gluten free foods you have to make sure that you’re not just eating gluten free junk food. Overall, eating whole grain foods in combination with healthy fruits, vegetables, and lean protein will result in the most weight loss. This article differed from the other two since it focuses on the effects gluten free and whole grain foods have on weight loss/gain and since it’s a magazine article, its purpose is not only to inform but to also be relatable.
