According to Dictionary drug abuse is an “Compulsive, excessive, and self-damaging use of habit forming drugs or substances, leading to addiction or dependence, serious physiological injury (such as damage to kidneys, liver, heart) and or psychological harm (such as dysfunctional behavior patterns, hallucinations, memory loss), or death. While the person may feel a good sense while on drugs such as the relaxation or high energy, peer pressure has been a major influence on using drugs in the society. Drugs can be induced in one’s body in many ways like through injection, drinking, smoking, snorting and rubbing Some community with certain people are feared on higher rate of drug use and this bring social problems which reduces the commitment of people wanting to be associated with that community. Drug users are generally feared and even when they decide to go to treatment for recovery it takes a long time to get back to normal life since they are in the system. For example in every job they apply they may be denied until they clear their allegation which this can make the individual self-esteem and raise the chances of relapse.
