Food labels are everywhere and the best way to stay healthy is to look at the label first because no one else is going to do it for you. The average american should consume around 2,500 calories a day to maintain their weight level, but to lose weight around 1,900-2,000 calories daily should cause slight weight loss(“Wrong…”).
Economic freedom allows you to buy all the snack foods you desire without a single care, but you should care because all of the amounts of sugar be contained within the foods you consume. Too much sugar causes the human body to overproduce insulin which can lead to Type 2 Diabetes(“Disaster…”). Excessive amounts of sugars in the body can also cause the brain to overlook the amounts of Leptin in the blood(“Disaster…”). Leptin is contained within the fat cells of the body and is released when the stomach is full allowing the brain to sense this feeling making the human body not consume more to satisfy its needs(“Disaster…”). If the brain can’t sense the amounts of Leptin in the blood it will not know that the fat cells are already full causing a person to still feel the need to eat more foods(“Disaster…”). The main reason many people consume larger amount of sugary foods is the sensation it gives them. Sugars cause Opiate and Dopamine activity in the reward centers of the brain, just like other addictive drugs of abuse such as cocaine it can cause addiction(“Disaster...”).
