Most parents are able to help their children and want the best for them. Other parents without wanting to end up harming them because they want to gain control over them. Child maltreatment mostly known as child abuse, is when a parent or caregiver, whether through action or failing to act, causes injury, death, emotional harm or risk of serious harm to a child (Goldman 2003). There are various forms of child maltreatment including neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, exportation, and emotional.
There are very different types of child abuse that will affect the child, not only in their childhood but also in the long run. The first kind is one that everyone knows and believes to be one of the most common but not much reported that is physical abuse. Physical abuse involves a willful or non-accidental injury resulting from the harmful action of a parent or caretaker (DuBois 2008). Physical abuse can be simply pulling a child to the worst into using objects to harm the child, like using a belt. Another type of abuse is one that happens almost all the time as simply saying. “Why could you not be like your older brother?” by making them feel less of a person, that is emotional abuse. Emotional abuse is parental or caregiver behavior that harms the child emotionally, the behaviors are rejecting, terrorizing, ignoring or corrupting children (Popple 2008) There is an abuse that is one of the most cruel and one that most people do not speak about because they are afraid to the way…
