board we narrowed are topic down to: anxiety, depression, bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, and binge eating disorder.

We tried to find relatable information to dispel these myths. Millah tackled the research on anorexia and bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder; Jamie researched anxiety and depression.

To find information we used online articles and our abnormal psychology text book. Once we were heading in a final direction, I think that the project evolved the way we had planned. The most of the changes and unexpected bumps in the road were during the first few weeks when we scrambling to find appropriate information.

After we compiled all of our information we were more confident than ever that this was an issue that should be addressed. We found that there were high national averages of people who were suffering from the mental illness we were researching.

Now that we had are conclusions about the need of exposure of these issues we had to decide on how to address them. We thought long and hard about how we would conquer our service project. We were in the unique position of not really being able to do much with our topic, because we are not licensed professionals. We knew that even though we didn’t have the background to fully resolve these issues, there was still something we could do to make an impact. We figured that even though we couldn’t counsel people, the next best thing was to direct people to the proper resources.
