Who doesn’t have a smartphone these days? In today’s modern life, smartphones are undoubtedly used for many aspects in an individual’s daily routine. Such as going on the internet to look up information from the latest weather report, to social media, and simply using the map of the smart phone to find a certain destination. Smartphones are no longer just used for calling or texting. The phones open a wide spread of availability where teachers in schools can ask their students to use their smartphones to look up a vocabulary word, take a photo of an assignment written on a board, or text themselves a homework reminder. There is already sixty two percent of schools (k-12), around the United States of America, that allow smart phones on school grounds, but ban them in the classroom. Whereas twenty-four percent of schools in America ban smart phones altogether. The question is…should students be permitted to use smart phones in school? I believe students should be permitted to use smartphones, and they should be required to use them in class daily. Smartphones are not only used to keep in touch with family and friends, but they can encourage the responsible use of technology, and they are an excellent learning resource.
Having access with smartphones, comes with many possibilities to stay in touch with family and friends while in school. At any time period during the day, something serious or amazing could happen, and if students were allowed to have their smartphones with…
