Student’s mindset and behavior are one of the most important issues that may affect our future generation. First of all, in our society now many people believe that intelligence and talent are inherited from parents. Some may think that there is no way for them to exceed those who born with talent. In fact, we will hear people say, “That person born with a musical prodigy,” “he is a natural basketball player,” or “he is destined to become a great painter.” If one thinks they have limited intelligence or ability, they might have a fixed type mindset. In the other hands, people who are more interested in trying new things, learning from mistakes, and improve themselves with negative feedback, are people with growth type mindset. Student’s learning, mindset, motivation, and behavior can be a big issue for our future society in this country. Does students’ mindset really affect their learning? Many scientists use students’ motivation and learning for research. There are two type of students, one with growth mindset where they are more interested in solving a problem, and taking difficult tasks. Other with fixed mindset are more interested in showing how smart they can be. According to Dweck (1998), she tested out two groups of fifth-grade students from an IQ test. The first group, they focused on their intelligence by telling them, (“Wow, that’s really good score. You must be smart at this.”) The other group forced on effort by telling them, (“Wow, that’s a really good score.…
