While attending the College of Coastal Georgia I have worked very hard to balance my time between class, school, work and extracurricular activities. My first year at the college I was a Freshman Senator in the student Government Association, a member of the Seaswell’s Literary Magazine, and a member of the Urban Gaming club. I’ve always tried to be involved in volunteer services in the community, so I continued to help out with the Satilla River Clean-up, which I had done throughout high school as well. I also volunteered for, and continue to each year, the Jekyll Island Beach clean-up and the Brantley County Relay for Life. I was a member of the Center of Academic Success, and through the program visited Sapelo Island’s Gullah festival and received mentoring from an upper level student and from Mr. Bailey. I was hired by technology services as a lab assistant, and have stayed at my job the following semesters. That spring I also participated in the Big Leadership Weekend event, President Dr. Aloia’s Inauguration week events, and worked that summer as an orientation leader at the college.
The following year I joined the American Studies Association, and continued my volunteer service in the community by working at the Manna House several times, as well as continuing my participation in local environmental clean-ups. I was also a member of the class that worked together in completing an archive of a large donation of comic books donated to the Gould Library by an alumnus…
