Essay on The Life of a Teacher
When looking back on the times of becoming the young woman that I am today, there have been times that I questioned what I wanted to become. I remember when I was in elementary school, I would play school with my friends and I would teach them. But, when I went into middle school, I became interested in the medical field, and this continued until my high school years. Both my mother and my stepmother are teachers and they have encouraged me to look into the field, but I never became interested until my stepmother asked me if I could help her on a field trip to the circus when I was in the eleventh grade.

When I become a teacher, I want to give my students all that I can. I want the students to walk out of my class and be the best that they can possibly be and to be happy. Like William Arthur Ward said, “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” I want to be a great teacher to my students, and I want to make a difference in each of their lives.
In each of the classes that I observed through volunteering and observations for my class, I could see the different types of philosophies that were used. The philosophy that I believe that best fits my ways is progressivism. I believe that the children working in one group at a table together is one of the best methods of learning and they are able to socialize with each other and further developing their social skills with one another. Children should have fun when they are learning and they should want to learn. My classroom will be painted in very bright colors, because I believe that this will catch the student’s attention, along with all of the posters that will be on the wall. On one of the bulletin boards in the classroom, I will have a large calendar that each day, the helper will mark what day it is and how the weather is outside with a picture. This will keep the children excited because
